For an outdoor person and avid traveler like me, a digital camera is an indispensable part of my gears especially when I am out hiking, mountain biking, or just plain enjoying an outdoor experience, whether alone or with my buddies. But I do have concerns about my digital camera when I am doing water sports, extreme or otherwise. It gets wet and I am ashamed to admit that I have already lost a couple of digital cameras before because I failed to secure them properly. I’m sure that this has also happened to a lot of other, especially drunken or absent minded tourists who forgot that their digital cameras were not waterproof.

Now I know that what I needed was one of those waterproof digital cameras. This type of camera is resistant to some level of moisture and is capable of absorbing some physical abuse. This is the digital camera that is right for bringing to the beach, while fishing, camping, even skiing or kayaking. I am a serious outdoor person so I am seriously considering getting one for my next trip abroad. I don’t want to risk losing another digital camera that will not survive a bit of moisture or being dropped on a pool of water.
